As you arrive, you become aware of a small Rebel outpost near the beacon. As you approach the rock, warning lights flash as hostiles beam aboard the ship from some hidden location. Your ship detects a faint distress signal on a nearby moon. You detect life-signs actually on the beacon itself! A teleporter signal warns you but it's too late, they've beamed from the beacon onto your ship and seem intent on taking it over.Yours is looking quite nice, I think we might be taking it from you now." Intruders beam aboard. As you can see, our ship has seen better days. You receive a communication: "Hello! Nice of you to drop by. A heavily damaged ship is drifting near this beacon. As you approach the vessel, you detect a teleporter signal but it's too late. What appears to be a civilian ship sends a friendly hail.Fight a REBEL_AUTO_WARNING BATTLEFIELD_SURVIVOR.A small shuttle appears on the local radar. This beacon is being patrolled by a unmanned scout.Another unmanned ship patrols this area.Looks like there's no way around a fight. This must be one of the Rebels' unmanned scout ships. You attempt to open communications, but realize the futility of that action when you see the ship is run by an AI. The AI of a nearby small Rebel scout immediately identifies you as a threat and engages. You attempt to hide behind a nearby moon, but the ship finds you and begins its assault. A Rebel autonomous scout is exploring this beacon.Prepare to die." It appears this Rebel ship is run by an AI. Your ship is hailed: "This is an automated message. The ship's AI wastes no time in engaging your ship. You discover one of the Rebel's autonomous scouts. The only thing I hate even almost as much are the big Slug ships with all 2 square rooms that are a nightmare to board. Even those giant Mantis/Rock bomber ships are nowhere near this nasty. Since no other kind of sector has ships that present this level of problem (except some super nasty automated ships) and the rewards are pretty weak in Lanius sectors, I generally try to avoid them in sector 6-7. And of course if you have 2+ Lanius crew yourself AND hacking/MC these ships are a snap but that's not that common.) The problem becomes prioritizing whether you keep their weapons down, or try to stop the boarding nonsense. Which they will if the fight lasts long enough. Since they can't heal, they won't come back, and the teleporter will be tied up for a while before they send the next two. (If you have hacking or mind control this gets a lot easier to deal with, but the repelling strategy is NOT to kill them, but to reduce their HP to the point they teleport back to their home ship. Good luck if they're in your weapons room.
#FTL ABANDONED SECTOR FREE#
This means that there will be two Lanius invaders roaming free on your ship, along with one of your own crewmembers helping them, while you're doing this. Which means your first barrage is probably going to be aimed at weapons. If not, your build isn't really good for sec7 or last stand. Originally posted by anarcher:Yes, but by sector 6 you really should be able to punch through 4 shield bubbles and still deal heavy damage to a single system (weapons in this case).
